Activated Carbon Block water filter cartridge technology is ideal for residential "point of entry" chlorine removal, provided dirt/sediment pre-filtration is employed. Without sediment pre-filtration carbon block filtration is apt to cause severe flow rate restriction. Our PWF4520CBDS is a complete system which protects the carbon block cartridge greatly extending its service life. This system includes: (1) 4.5 inch x 20 inch wholehouse transparent water filter with a 5 micon sediment cartridge, mounting bracket and spanner wrench. The transparent housing allow visual inspection of cartridge condition. (1) 4.5 inch x 20 inch wholehouse opaque water filter with chlorine carbon block cartridge, mounting bracket and spanner wrench. With the pre-filtration in position the absorptive (chlorine / chemical removal) capabilities of the carbon can be exhausted without substantial flow rate reduction. Thus the carbon block cartridge will last the estimated 6 months without premature failure. This filter housing is manufactured from the highest quality NSF listed, FDA grade materials. A built-in pressure relief button and a spanner wrench are included for easy periodic cartridge change out. Available with 3/4 inch, 1 inch or 1.5 inch NPT inlet / outlet.
